Elvesztette szeretett édesapját, Markovits Kálmánt, akitől szombaton végső búcsút vett, ám az élet nem hagyta csendben gyászolni. Eljött a hétfő, és Markovits Lászlónak, a Vasas Sport Club elnökének a Pasaréten megtartott sajtótájékoztatón volt feladata. A délelőtti összejövetelen bizakodva, optimistán tekintett a jövőbe, és a nem sokkal déli tizenkét óra után a honlapunknak adott interjújában sem tett másként.
– Elnök úr! Hány olyan európai egyesületről tud, amelynél csupán a vevőjelölt szándéknyilatkozata mellett megválnak az eddigi edzőtől, mert annak más elképzelései vannak a szakmai stáb összetételéről?

Tehát ha a Sport Clubnak az az érdeke, hogy egy külföldi tulajdonos jöjjön, és a futballcsapatot működtesse, és esetlegesen más elképzelése van a szakmai stábot illetően, akkor azt sajnos el kell fogadnunk, mert igazán más alternatívánk hosszútávon nincsen. – Ezt a kérdést már feltették nekem, és én akkor is azt válaszoltam, hogy abban a szerencsés helyzetben vagyunk, ha ez a vevőjelölt érkezik egy évvel korábban, mondjuk januárban, akkor vele ugyanúgy aláírjuk a szerződést. Nem azért írtuk alá, mert a huszonnegyedik órában vagyunk, hanem azért, mert megfelelő partnerként kezeljük. Olyan sportszakmai koncepciót tett le az asztalra, olyan pénzügyi garanciákat vállalt, ami a Vasas Sport Clubnak mindenféleképpen előnyös.
– Bár itt az év vége, a számvetés ideje, mégis, mi a következő megoldandó feladat?
